When I arrived in the US almost 6 years ago, I wasn't able to find a job right away because I had to wait for my papers for permanent residency and also my green card. While I was waiting, I kept looking at the newspapers for job openings. I thought at that time that it would be easy for me to find a job after my papers will be processed because I am college graduate in the Philippines. Well, I was wrong. After I got my papers, I started to look for a job. I wanted an office job so I went for interviews but unfortunately I was not hired so I ended up working in a fastfood restaurant. That was tough because I was not used in doing that kind of job. My previous job in the Philippines was in the office so I was expecting that I would land in the same job in the US but I did not have the skills that they require. I would have been skilled in the field of computer and ready for an office job.
