Not My Birthday

I was logged onto texaselectricityproviders.com and looking for a better energy rate when the phone rang. I put the computer down and ran to pick up the phone. I was surprised to hear my grandmother’s voice on the other end of the line singing “Happy Birthday”. I was totally confused, because it wasn’t my birthday. It worried me because my parents had mentioned that my grandmother has recently been having some trouble with her memory. I just didn’t have the heart to tell her that it wasn’t my birthday. So we chatted a little while and wished each other well. When we hung up, I immediately called my mother and told her what grandma had done. Turned out that it was actually my other cousin Liz’s birthday. Having a cousin with the same name really causes confusion in the family sometime. It did make me feel better about my grandma though, because it was a simple mistake that even I could make! I just wish that I had called her back and told her that it was the other Liz’s birthday so that she would have gotten a call!
